Brett Rudderham, pictured here with his girlfriend Robyn Chaperon and 19-month-old Lennon Rudderham, was the winner of $213,681.50 in Sunday's Glace Bay Minor Hockey draw.
Earlier in the day there was a steady stream of people dropping of tickets at the Miners Forum, hoping to cash-in.
The ticket drum was nearly full as the draw was made just after 3:00pm.
Cape Breton Regional Police Chief Robert Walsh pulled the winning ticket from the drum in what proved to be the largest jackpot ever in the draw's history.
Rudderham, who played minor hockey in Glace Bay, says he plans to use some of the money on purchasing his first ever house.

Brett's mother Shauna Rudderham and grandmother Betty Matheson stopped by the Glace Bay Minor Hockey office on Monday to accept the cheque on his behalf.
Brett purchased the winning ticket from his goddaughter Kinsley Boutilier.
